After J. showed me videos of guinea pigs popcorning, I began looking for the same behavior in other species.
J. and I have been watching Breaking Bad recently.
I’ve known this word for so long that it’s impossible for me to pinpoint where and when I learned it. The idea has always fascinated me, though, because of its supernatural implications.
I came across the idea of the Seelie and Unseelie Courts in my research of fae after coming across a particularly interesting Jareth (Labyrinth) role-player.
J: “You should add flibbertigibbet.”
I learned this word from J.
The fireplace pictured doesn’t even have an inglenook but I really liked this picture so I’m going to use it anyway. I’m fairly sure I picked up the word inglenook from the name of a stall at a Renaissance Festival.
I can’t remember where I learned this word. I think it’s beautiful, though.
When we first met, J. used to call me “mein liebling” quite often.
This word was used to describe Dr. Stephen Maturin in the Aubrey/Maturin series which I have read all the way through.
A few years back, I was given a list of “beautiful words” in a class. This was on it.
